Nearly every DQ is independently owned and sets its own schedule, so check your local store in the DQ app before you go.

Typical Dairy Queen hours

Typical U.S. hours for full-menu DQ Grill & Chill restaurants. Many stores stay open later in summer; some highway locations open earlier.

Drive-thru hours

Most Dairy Queen drive-thrus follow the same hours as the dining room, and some stay open 30 to 60 minutes later. The DQ app shows the drive-thru hours for your store.

Seasonal and treat-only stores

Can you order food all day?

Yes. Dairy Queen does not have a separate breakfast or lunch menu at most U.S. locations, so the full food menu and the $7 Meal Deal are available from opening to close at full-menu restaurants. Some stores stop serving food 15 to 30 minutes before closing.

Holiday hours

• Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day: most Dairy Queens are closed.
• Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve: many close early.
• New Year’s Day, Easter and Easter Sunday: hours vary; some stores close.
• Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day: usually open, often with regular or extended hours.

Best times to go

Weekday afternoons between 2 and 4 p.m. are usually the quietest. Summer evenings, especially Friday and Saturday after 7 p.m., are the busiest; order ahead in the DQ app to skip the line.
